Brian Magill and Paul Mercer prepare for Comber Earlies Food Festival

SERC students and staff will be talking 'tatties' at Ards and North Down Borough Council’s Comber Earlies Food Festival, part of the Taste the Summer in Ards and North Down, from 18 June to 3 July.

The Festival celebrates the protected geographic status of the wonderful Comber potato, which will be centre stage for all kinds of delicious food and feature for demonstrations, masterclasses, and tastings.

Paul Mercer, Deputy Head of School of Hospitality and Tourism at the College said, “Our Level 2 and Level 3 Professional Cookery students will be involved in demonstrations, masterclasses, and tastings during the festival. They will also get the chance to work with top London chef Theo Randall from the critically acclaimed Theo Randall at the InterContinental at 1 Park Lane.”

Paul added, “The Festival is a must for all ‘foodies’ and we are looking forward to sharing a wealth of dishes which will have the world-famous Comber Earlies as the star ingredient.”
