Over 3000 FT students have produced imaginative and innovative solutions to real world challenges which span over 30 curriculum areas. The top seven teams went head to head yesterday in our 2020 Expo Showcase virtual final for the opportunity to win fantastic prizes including Lenovo tablets, Echo dots and a range of other prizes for all finalists.

Each group pitched their project idea for 3 minutes to our 4 external judges SERC’s Entrepreneur in Residence Terrence Brannigan, Director of Social Enterprise NI Colin Jess, SERC Alumni and Entrepreneur Aimee Clint and SERC Alumni and Head of Regulatory Services for Ards and North Down Borough Council Stephen Addy.

The overall 2020 Showcase winners were Lisburn group ‘Go Green Coffee Bean’ who are a group of Manufacturing & General Engineering students who have created eco-friendly fire logs made from recycled coffee.
