In its inaugural year, 2020, World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day has been a largely social media led campaign to engage consumers around the sustainability benefits of EVs. ‍ World EV Day works with its partners to either create digitally led creative campaigns, or provides the tools and channels for our partners to work on their own campaigns.

This year, World EV Day was mentioned in the UK parliament, and celebrated by the White House’s top climate advisor. In 2022 we will continue to ask businesses across the world how they will #DriveChange to support the shift to e-mobility World EV Day works with its partners to either create digitally led creative campaigns, or provides the tools and channels for our partners to work on their own campaigns.

This is one of those “days” that could really make an impact in the long term. Hopefully World EV Day will quickly gain momentum, bring more EVs more into the mainstream at a faster pace, and help boost support for better motoring and for a cleaner environment. If more people put demand on automakers for EVs, then the automakers would have to prioritize what their customers want. With such government support as incentives and charging infrastructure, this can happen even faster and more efficiently.

Benefits of driving an electric vehicle:

  1. Electric cars are cheaper to run
  2. Electric cars are better for the environment
  3. There are no (or lower) congestion charges for electric cars
  4. Driving an electric car is a better experience
  5. Free street parking/charging for electric vehicles
  6. Electric cars have solid resale value
  7. Electric cars reduce noise pollution
