Are you a young person thinking about doing your Duke of Edinburgh Award? Or maybe you are looking for different challenge, something to dedicate your time to? Here is everything you need to know.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme is an excellent scheme for young people to experience something completely different! You will discover something new about yourself at every step of the way, whilst broadening your interests, making new friends, and creating memories that you will take with you into adulthood.
Anyone aged 14–24- can do a Duke of Edinburgh award at one of three levels: Bronze, Silver & Gold. Each individual badge requires different tasks and skills to complete. There are a total of four sections to complete at bronze and silver level and five at gold level. These sections involve helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition and, for Gold only, working with a team on a residential activity.
For the hundreds of students that take part each year, the benefits of completing a Duke of Edinburgh Award are endless. Achieving an award will give you skills, confidence and most importantly an edge over others when you are applying for jobs.
How much will it cost?
- £23 – Bronze Award
- £30 – Silver Award
- £30 – Gold Award
Everyone who participates will receive a DofE card to get discounts on outdoor equipment, your expedition kit and clothing
