This lockdown SERC is encouraging people to share with us their works of art and crafts, to inspire people to pick up a paintbrush, sewing needle or anything else that gets your creativity flowing.

Lockdown gives us the opportunity to explore new hobbies and ways to keep ourselves entertained,  as well as to show off and improve our skills. That is why this lockdown SERC is encouraging people to share with us their works of art and crafts, to inspire people to pick up a paintbrush, sewing needle or anything else that gets your creativity flowing. Whether you are a beginner or a master at your chosen art form, making something can lead to better mental wellbeing, as well as being a fun hobby, so let’s get creative!

If you have any paintings, crafts, sewing projects or any other creative and artistic things you would like to share, please contact cdonaldson@serc.ac.uk.

Doll House

Today we are featuring Gillian Auld's Doll House, she built this last lockdown and kept adding to it ever since. The range of scenarios you are able to set up, especially when adding your own personal touches, can allow for a lot of creativity and fun experimentation.

Chatterpix

Chatterpix is an app that encourages children to make their own junk art, take a picture of it and import it into the app. In the app, you can add eyes, a mouth and maybe even something for your work of art to say. Suitable for ages 5 - 12, its a great way to channel your child's creativity into a fun activity.
