A leading charity for men’s health both physical and mental, Movember UK’s annual fundraising event has presented a yearly opportunity to bring attention to male health issues and raise funds for a worthwhile cause.
SERC’s Students’ Union in collaboration with Mind Yourself grew moustaches, walked, ran and cycled to raise funds for the charity with the team’s efforts raising a total of £730.
As well as raising money for the charity, both the SU and Mind Yourself took the opportunity to raise awareness and talk about men’s health. Mind Yourself had men’s health articles shared to staff, while the Students’ Union also had content on their Health and Wellbeing hub themed around men's health. You can find out more by visiting the Students’ Union Teams site by clicking here. You can also keep up with the Students’ Union via socials media accounts, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Movember UK raises funds for various projects and initiatives in areas including: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Funds raised for Movember will go towards raising awareness, making treatments more affordable and accessible, improving health services, funding support groups and other projects.
