College Connect students along with TFS Project Trainees in Newtownards and Downpatrick Campus recently enjoyed a Career talk and Leadership programme session delivered by Royal Navy.

Students were given the opportunity to discuss a range of exciting career options with serving Royal Navy personnel and took part in a fun leadership and team building exercise in which teams were challenged to build the tallest bridge. It was a closely fought competition on both campuses and it certainly brought competitive spirit to the fore with all those involved.   Competitors were given feedback on leadership skills and on their team's ability to work as a team.  The students agreed that they found the session very interesting.

Barbara McNeill Head of School Training said, “This session has been planned for over three years’, but due to Covid restrictions, this was the first time we were able to include an ‘in person’ practical leadership session rather than online.  The informal session allowed students to explore a range of career opportunities that they may not have considered and to take away some practical tips for leadership and teamwork.”
