SERC'S Careers Service has been successfully reaccredited with the Matrix Quality Standard for its Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) provision for another three years.

The seven-strong careers team works across SERC Campuses, providing impartial, confidential, one-to-one career guidance to SERC students, prospective students, community groups and any individuals in the local community.   They deliver a range of activities to inform service users of career and educational opportunities and support them with their next steps.

Senior Careers Officer Shirley Moore said, “Achieving the re-accreditation demonstrates the outstanding quality of CEIAG being delivered by the Careers team at SERC. We were delighted with the feedback received in the Matrix Assessor’s report, particularly around the enthusiasm and knowledge of the Careers team in the provision of impartial guidance, the excellent partnerships developed to support equity and diversity, and the excellent feedback from students and internal and external partners; the report stated, “SERC’s CEIAG Service is exemplary in the promotion, delivery and review of its identified services.”

She added, “It is vitally important that anyone using the service – whether they are a SERC student, a student from a local school, or someone who wants to change career - is confident that they will receive impartial, confidential career guidance.  Our Matrix accreditation is the seal of approval for the quality and high level of service offered by our Careers team.”

SERC Careers team are on hand over the summer to help with career related queries. Anyone seeking guidance is encouraged to contact the team at careers@serc.ac.uk ahead of receiving their exam results, to find out about the wide range of options available.
