SERC’s Students’ Union (SU) has recently announced that Chris Bruton has won the vote to become the SERC Student Governor. Serving for one year, the role will commence in the next academic term and will see Chris form part of the Governing Body and senior decision-making body of SERC.

Chris is currently studying the Ulster University Foundation Degree in Computing course at the college’s Bangor Campus. Some of his plans in his new role as Student Governor include improving student life by adding social spaces for students on campus as well as focusing on extra-curricular activities for students to engage in outside of class.

On being elected as Student Governor, Chris comments: “I feel relieved and excited. It was a privilege to be elected as I know that my fellow candidates were great. I have several ideas for improving student life that I want to implement as soon as I can.”

The SU would like to say thanks to all candidates who ran for election this year and would also like to thank all students who voted during the election week.
