Course Overview

This qualification isaimed at practising or aspiring managers who supervise or manage a team, or project officer and shift manager to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role.  

This course has various start dates though out the year, typically scheduled for one 3.5 hour session per week for 16 weeks.

Should be working (paid or unpaid capacity) or have recent workplace experience OR be willing to research businesses to respond to assignments requirements for workplace examples.   Ideally in team leader/supervisor role; (Team Leader Supervisor Project Officer Shift Manager/Shift Supervisor Foreperson.)

Ideally will have GCSE English/Essential Skills L2 OR be confident with their writing skills as assignments 2000 words of academic style writing, ie full, formal sentences etc.  Support will be given re academic writing/referencing but writing at this level is expected in assignments.

301: Principles of Management and Leadership

302: Managing a Team to Achieve Results

307: Developing the Knowledge, Skills & Abilities of Individuals & Teams

316 Monitoring Quality to Improve Outcomes

319: Managing meetings

Ideal candidates are those that would like to develop their management and leadership skills to help achieve clearly defined outcomes. The qualifications have been designed for practising or aspiring managers in roles such as:    

  • Team Leader, Supervisor, Project Officer, Shift Manager, and Foreperson
