Course Overview

The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the skills and design practices needed for the industry. The qualification provides flexibility and choice in the delivery of units and provides learners with the opportunity to specialise in preferred areas of interior design.

Units may include :

  1. Preparation for Employment and Self-employment in the Creative and Cultural Industries
  2. Design Project
  3. Design inspiration : The Role of the Interior Designer
  4. Exploring and evaluating Drawing and interior design ideas
  5. Interior Design : Creative Lighting
  6. Use materials to create and present final interior design work

There are no specific formal entry requirements.

However, for some units the learner may need an understanding of certain areas before they can fully benefit from them, so it may be an advantage to have completed the Level 2 Award in Interior Design or a qualification in a related creative subject such as art and design.  

Learners must be at least 16 years old.

A passion for interior Design.

You have some experience of interior Design and would like to further develop skill in this subject area.   

The course offers students the additional expert knowledge to truly inspire and take their design skills to another level.

We don't just teach interior design; we encourage every student to access and nurture their own natural sense of flair and creativity.   We teach the technical and practical skills necessary to translate those design ideas into reality. This can include room plans and layouts, lighting, colour schemes for example.

The relaxed but supportive atmosphere and creative modules covered.   

The practical hands-on approach to the subject. 

The opportunity to develop your visual skills practical creative projects.

You will develop the skills to progress into industry or potentially to lead to further FE study in a related subject.
