The Level 3 Award in community development will provide learners with  the knowledge in community values and processes, community group understanding and understanding of diversity and injustice issues.  The Community Development qualifications enable progression to the next level within the suite of OCN NI qualifications available. The Level 3 qualifications enable progression to further and higher education opportunities.

Candidates will need access to laptop or computer as the programme will be delivered online via MS Teams.

Leaners are required to successfully complete 6 mandatory modules to complete the qualification as detailed below:

  • Collaborative and cross sectoral work
  • Community learning for social change
  • Governance and organisational development
  • Group work and collective action
  • Understand community development practice
  • Understand and engage with communities

This programme is ideal for anyone who wishes to work and progress in the community sector.

Candidates will learn how to work collaboratively across sectors while understanding key aspects of social change and governance related to the community sector.  They will also learn what community practice is and how to engage with a range of communities.
