Congratulations to Fintan McConville, Lecturer in Essential Skills ITC, who won the St Valentine’s Vintage Day Afternoon Tea Hamper raffle in Downpatrick Campus.
The raffle was organised by students from the Skills for Life and Work programme in a bid to raise funds to support activities for personal and social skills development. The students put together the afternoon tea hamper which included cups, saucers, side plates, cake stand, tablecloth and napkins with a selection of freshly prepared treats – sandwiches, scones, cakes and bakes - made under the tutelage of Culinary Arts Lecturer, Sinead Scott. It also included two glasses and a bottle of Prosecco.
Fintan said, “I was delighted to support the Skills for Life and Work students by purchasing a ticket, and of course I was thrilled to win the hamper. The food was delicious, and the charming teacups and cake stand - perfect for showcasing sweet treats in style - will be used again when visitors drop by.”
Truffle, the Skills for Life and Work team’s vintage shop in Downpatrick Campus, provided the inspiration for the St Valentine’s Vintage Afternoon Tea raffle. All the merchandise has been donated by staff, students, family and friends. Truffle is in the foyer and is open Wednesday and Friday 10am – 3pm.
