SERC offers several Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade (CIE&IT) qualifications through the College’s Business Services team. The team were delighted to be invited along to CIE&IT’s recent graduation in London to celebrate student success, including that of Piotr Baginiski, who achieved his Level 3 Customs Practitioner Award through SERC.

Piotr, from Dungannon, was encouraged to complete the qualification by his wife, Sylwia, who had previously successfully completed the Level 3 Customs Practitioner Award.   The couple are now completing the Level 4 Customs Practitioner Award together online with SERC through Skill Up.

Speaking about his qualification journey Piotr said, “My adventure with international trade began when I started working at Terex Corporation, in Cookstown. Working in a team, I had the opportunity to observe the flow of goods and supply chain process all over the world. The practical knowledge I gained fuelled my desire to develop my career in this direction.

“My wife Sylwia encouraged me to start studying for the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade qualifications, following her experience of gaining qualifications through North West Regional College and South East Regional College.

“Our continued up-skilling with these qualifications has equipped us with new professional knowledge and the opportunity to develop previously gained competences.  We find ourselves members of a huge community of people involved in international trade, which is very exciting.” Speaking about studying online at SERC Piotr said, “Both our experiences have been very positive.   As mature students, we have found professionalism and a unique approach to individual needs at every turn.  The entire process from enrolling, to study, to qualification has been very positive. We simply felt appreciated and have a strong sense of belonging.”

Piotr concluded, “Celebrating qualifications at the at the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade Graduation at Mansion House, London has been a unique experience. We were delighted to meet fellow students, professors, college representatives, coordinators and to exchange experiences at such a distinguished celebration.”

The next fully funded Customs Practitioner Award under Skill Up commences on 16 January 2025.
