Level 3 NVQ Hairdressing students from SERC Bangor and Lisburn campuses recently displayed their hair styling expertise at an intercampus competition held at SERC Lisburn Campus’s Revive Salon.
Given the task of creating an image based on the theme of ‘hair by night’, students raced against the clock to put their own spin on the creative brief, which involved hair styling, makeup, and costumes.
The competition was judged by industry experts including Lesley Stitt, Educator for OSMO Hair Products, and Sunita Shaw, a past SERC hairdressing student who now works as a makeup artist in the film industry.
SERC Bangor student Jessica Loughlin (18), from Newtownards took first place, with second place going to SERC Bangor student Emma Bruce (19), from Bangor and SERC Bangor student Brooke Davidson (18) from Bangor in third place. Each student won a goodie bag courtesy of OSMO Hair Products as well as Amazon gift vouchers.
