Five students from the Level 2 Traineeship in Information Technology at SERC’s Bangor Campus have each scooped £100 vouchers following successful completion of a simulated placement.
The students were taking part in the Ultimate Work Experience Challenge through a platform called SpringPod. The programme allows the students to complete realistic tasks from the IT industry and equips them with all the skills they need to excel and stay safe in the digital world.
Ryan Major, Deputy Head of School of Computing said, “As part of the Level 2 Traineeship in IT students often undertake simulated placement, as securing placement opportunities in IT can be difficult. The virtual placement platform SpringPod allowed the students to undertake opportunities with industry employers in areas such as Cloud, Crowd Analysis, and Cybersecurity. Successful completion in the Ultimate Work Experience Challenge allowed all participants to enter a prize draw and five of our students each won £100 in gift vouchers and a special work experience certificate.”
