Course Overview
This course is suitable if you are working or intend to work in a mobile or corporate technical environment with a high level of face-to-face client interaction.

• Windows 9X operating systems
• Windows NT/200 operating systems
• Windows XP operating systems
• Multimedia capabilities
• Advanced hardware fundamentals and servers

• Preventive maintenance and upgrading
• Troubleshooting PC hardware
• Troubleshooting PC software

Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisite qualifications required for this course, however you should have good computer skills. Applications are particularly welcome from women and mature students with basic computer skills.

Where will it take me?
This course helps you prepare for both exams associated with the CompTIA A+ (220-620 IT Technician) certification.
 Successful completion of this course is a useful prerequisite to Microsoft MCDST or Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and eventually leading to a career in the computer networking industry. Example job roles include enterprise technicians, IT administrators, field service technicians or PC technicians.

Successful completion of this course is a useful prerequisite to Microsoft MCDST or Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and eventually leading to a career in the computer networking industry.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Assessment is by a range of practical labs preparing you for the (optional) 2 online examinations that are required for CompTIA A+ (220-620 IT Technician) certification. You will complete CompTIA A+ Essentials training in Semester 1 and sit this exam. In Semester 2 you will prepare for the IT Technician exam 220-620 and on passing the exams will be CompTIA A+ certified with the IT Technician designation.
