Successful ISO 9001:2015 Audit Inspection for SERC

SERC are delighted to announce that they have successfully transferred to the new ISO 9001:2015 quality standards for the provision of their business courses within the school of construction and engineering.

Following a rigorous inspection by an independent external assessor, SERC has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for the quality of their gas, oil, unvented, water safety in healthcare and CSR courses. The Standard is a unique international accreditation, which confirms that the services the College provides are of the highest standard.

SERC’s management of the control of quality processes across the College was the focus of the assessment, particularly the delivery of Business Services programmes. The new standards have a stronger focus on the Leadership and Management of programmes.

SERC Principal Ken Webb said “To be awarded this global standard is a testament to the superb work that goes on across the College and reinforces our commitment to quality and continuously improving our processes and services. Congratulations must go to everybody who was involved in providing services that are officially recognised as being of the highest standard.”

The internationally recognised ISO body sent auditor, Claire Braham, to conduct the needed inspections and procedures.

Ms Braham reported that SERC had:  

•           No minor non-conformities

•           No major non-conformities

•           No Observations

She also stated that it is very rare for an organisation to get such a clean bill of health. 

SERC Chief Training Officer William Greer said “This is a major milestone for the College and we can now increase the scope of our ISO accreditation and use the international quality standard logo more widely in our advertising of business courses.

“Everyone involved in the inspection should be congratulated for the huge amount of preparation including the revision of policies and systems and for their excellent work during the audit.  Also, thanks to Linda who contributed a great deal before and during the audit.”

On the completion procedures, SERC was issued with ISO 9001:2015 certifications having met the globally required standard to better manage and control our business processes.
