Congratulations to Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning and Development student Bethany Dickson for winning the January-February Step Challenge. The Step Challenge began on Monday the 18th January and ended on Sunday 14th February and in that time Bethany walked a total of 541,197 steps on her way to victory.
Speaking about the Step Challenge Bethany said “I wanted to take part in the challenge to try to motivate myself to go out on more walks and to make walking a part of my day-to-day life. During the challenge I was walking between 10,000 and 20,000 steps a day, sometimes more.”
“I did find myself enjoying the challenge. It was nice having something to do on my days off work and college that was productive. It's really difficult to find things to do in lockdown that keep me productive, so this really helped.”
Bethany concluded “I really wasn’t expecting to win, but it does feels great. Don't be afraid to take up new challenges and activities just because you think it will be hard. You can do anything you put your mind to. You may even surprise yourself!”
