About Skills4Work

Skills4Work is a learning model for the VET sector in Ireland, the UK, Germany and Slovenia, focused on working with employers and local enterprises to create a work-based learning programme for vocational institutions.

The programme provides an opportunity for teachers and VET leaders to visit partner countries and learn about existing work experience programmes, establish VET and employer working groups, and extend employer participation in work-based learning programmes.

The Skills4Work website provides work-based learning implementation guidelines for vocational education and training, training materials for teachers, and a vocational-business partnership model.

The implementation guidelines are laid out as a step-by-step process that can be adopted in any VET organisation across Europe, and the materials are designed so that teachers/tutors can select and implement different modules to meet their needs. Each partner has also developed an employer engagement strategy to sustain relationships with local employers into the future.
