Video: Mini Christmas Concert

Level 3 Performing Arts students have filmed a variety of festive classics which will be sure to get you in Christmas spirit. Included in the performance are Jack Brannigan, Matthew Weiniger, Nadine Avery, Flynn Eve Morgan, Arwen Carbery, Erin Belshaw, Grace Kelly and Rhianna McNally.   

Lecturer Jenny Curtis spoke about the performance and how this showcase is different to years past.   She said, “Our students normally spend 3 days off-timetable to prepare a Christmas concert with choral carols, festive songs and at least one fully- choreographed dance. This is normally performed on Campus, bringing cheer to the students, staff and any members of the public using the building at that time.   

“The planned 2020 Christmas Concert was deeply impacted by Covid in terms of performance space, performance possibilities and time. However, mindful of restrictions, the students were absolutely determined to share some Christmas songs which they personally selected and rehearsed in their own time. 

Jenny concluded, "All participants in this year's Concert volunteered to perform and I'm proud to see so many of them trying to spread a little joy in this especially difficult year. Each student has contributed to building a happier environment for us all to enjoy. All of the students and staff in SERC Lisburn Performing Arts programme want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.”
