Be Part of the next generation of professionals

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is preparing to welcome a new cohort of ambitious students through the doors for the upcoming academic year, with enrolment days set for the 10-13 August.

Students are urged to apply online ahead of these dates to ensure a place on their desired course and to get an appointment to visit campus for enrolment.  In line with government advice the sessions are organised to safeguard everyone’s health as far as possible, with temperature checks and hand sanitiser stations on campuses and masks and social distancing required.

The 10 and 11 of August are the enrolment days for Full-time Higher Education (HE) courses while the 12 and 13 are the enrolment days for Full-time Further Education (FE) places, including traineeships and apprenticeships.

SERC has a focus on project-based learning and great connections with business and industry, with a well-deserved reputation for preparing the next generation of professionals.

When preparing for the next steps in your education, it’s important to explore all avenues to ensure you make the right choice. For those moving onto Higher Education, SERC’s offerings cover degrees, foundation degrees, HND’s, HNC’s and HLA’s (Higher Level Apprenticeships).

Caitlyn Dunlop says the Liverpool John Moores University BA Business Studies (Now BSc Business Management) course was the right choice for her:

“My brother went to SERC, so I was familiar with the College. When a SERC lecturer gave a talk at school on the degree programme this helped confirm my decision to do the BA in Business Studies. The clincher for me was that I would be getting a degree from Liverpool John Moores University, even closer to home and saving money. The fees are much less expensive than studying anywhere else.

“It is proving to be the perfect option for me. I particularly enjoy the smaller classes and the style of teaching.  You are not just a face in a hall and the smaller numbers allow for more open discussion and you soon get to know everyone on the course. I have found the tutors supportive and helpful and the atmosphere in the College relaxed and comfortable.”

FE student Jake Drinkwater took a Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT at SERC. He says

“What attracted me to SERC was the choice of specific subject courses and freedom from normal school life. The thing I enjoyed most about my course was the variety of topics covered, with the level of detail really drawing me into the course.

“My overall experience of SERC has been extremely positive, with the more independent approach to education which I feel suits me more than traditional schooling.”
