Take the First Step to be Your Own Boss at SERC

For anyone who has ever dreamt about being their own boss but didn’t quite know how to get stated, SERC is inviting you to take that first step with their new short course which offers training, support and a Level 2 qualification to help you get up and running.

Dearbhla Knight, Senior Innovation Advisor at SERC said, “Fully funded through the Department for the Economy’s Skill Up, the 10-week course, leading to a an OCN Level 2 Award in Innovation and Enterprise in Practice, is available at SERC’s Newcastle Campus.  The programme runs every Monday morning from 16 January through to 27 March and offers additional support in the form of free childcare at our Little SERC creche whilst parents/guardians attend the course."

Dearbhla added, “The course is ideally suited for someone who may have a business idea they want to get up and running and taking this first step could be exactly what you need to turn a dream into reality.   The course is led by experienced tutors and advisors who will provide advice on all the steps needed for starting a business. With more people than ever starting new enterprises across Northern Ireland, the programme aims to support people currently out of work.”

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification however learners must be at least 18 years old. The course is also suitable for anyone who would like to progress to a higher level qualification in innovation, enterprise, or business.
