Our Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) BSc Business Management third year students got a professional insight into Strategic Human Resource Management (HRM) recently, when David Johnston gave a guest lecture.

David, a retired human resource practitioner and part time lecturer at SERC, delivered a lively lecture entitled ‘Strategic HRM, Culture and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging’ as part of the students’ Strategic Human Resource Management module.

David, who won a CIPD Outstanding Contribution in the Field of People Development in Northern Ireland Award in 2021 said, “The students exuded confidence, competence, and professionalism during our interactive session. It is so easy to speak to an engaging audience and I thank them for their positive feedback.   You should be extremely proud of how you have developed this cohort of students.   I wish them every success as they complete the course and finalise their dissertations”.

Janice Simpson, LJMU Programme Manager at SERC said, “The students were all inspired, thoroughly enjoyed the session, and actively engaged in the lively discussion.   David was definitely noted as one of the best guest lecturers by the students and we thank him for his time and sharing his insight into this important element of business management.”

Check back as applications open soon for full time programmes commencing September 2024.
