During November, SERC’s Students’ Union, in collaboration with Mind Yourself, grew moustaches, walked, ran, and cycled to raise funds for Movember UK, a leading charity changing the face of men's health.
The team’s efforts raised a whopping £630 for the charity and moved a total of 371 kilometres. Movember UK supports various projects, initiatives and support for dealing with prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Included in the fundraising efforts are those pictured in the slideshow, Will Shankey, Caleb Graham - Disability Officer for Bangor SU, Liliana Dias Ferreira - Welfare Officer for Bangor SU, Paddy McShane - Lisburn Campus Manager, Ross Currie- Student Engagement Officer and Anna Leahy.
Priscillia Hewitt - Women’s Officer Bangor, Sharon McCartney- Disability Officer Lisburn and Mollie Richardson - Student Governor also made a very important contribution to the fundraising effort.
Funds raised for Movember will go towards raising awareness, making treatments more affordable and accessible, improving health services, funding support groups and other projects. You can find out more about the Movember here: https://uk.movember.com/
