A South Eastern Regional College (SERC) lecturer honoured with a Gold Pearson National Teaching Award in 2020, finally got to collect her Award at a glittering event in London this month.

Stefanie Campbell, Deputy Head of the Learning Academy at SERC, was selected from thousands of nominations from across the UK to win Digital Innovator of the Year, one of 14 Gold Awards. Stefanie was recognised for her outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the learners and staff on all SERC campuses.

Stefanie, from Saintfield, said, “I was grateful to be able to join with fellow Pearson Award winners and judges to celebrate the Teaching Awards for 2020, especially after having to wait to so long to do so due to Covid. It was such an honour to represent SERC and the Further Education Colleges in Northern Ireland.”

The Pearson National Teaching Awards is an annual celebration of exceptional teachers, founded in 1998 by Lord Puttnam to recognise the life-changing impact an inspirational teacher can have on the lives of the people they work with. This year marks its 23nd year of celebrating award-winning teachers, teaching assistants, headteachers and lecturers across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
