SERC Sleeping Beauty panto cast in costume

A SERC student enterprise is set to wow families with their annual pantomime production.  This year Sleeping Beauty will take centre stage at the College’s SPACE Campus, Castle Park Road for weekend showings from 8 – 17 December.

The Glass Umbrella Theatre Company, a student led company, comprising students from the School of Performing and Creative Arts will stage the production which promises to provide that all essential festive start to the holiday period for the whole family.

Steven Lee, Course Coordinator for the HND Performing Arts at SERC said, “The performance is a huge endeavour which involves over 30 students from the HND Performing Arts, Level 3 Performing Arts Practice & Performing Arts Practice (Dance), HND Music and Level 3 Music involved in performances and all-important backstage crew and front of house support.”

He added, “Expect amazing performances, fantastic dance routines and live music from our very talented students as you are transported to an enchanting kingdom when, once upon a time, a beautiful Princess was placed under a terrible curse by the most vile and wicked fairy in the land, Carabosse! With help from Queen Doreen, and the hapless court jester Chester, will the handsome Prince Frederick be able to break the spell and wake Sleeping Beauty from her 100 year sleep?   You will have to come along to SERC for a magical evening to find out!”

Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketsource.co.uk/space with an early bird family ticket available until 17 November while stocks last.

The cast of Sleeping Beauty will also be making a very special appearance at Ards & North Down Borough Council's Bangor Christmas lights switch on event in November.
