18 May 2020

The Department for Education have confirmed that the commencement of Traineeships and Skills For Life and Work will be deferred for one year until September 2021.
Therefore there will be a further one-year extension to Training for Success. This means that Skills For Your Life and Skills For Work Levels 1 and 2 will be extended for one year and SERC will have an intake to these courses in September 2020. If you have already applied for a Traineeship course, your application will be switched over to the TFS provision. You can view the new TFS prospectus via this link. If you are considering a TFS course, we would encourage you to apply ASAP. Interviews will be taking place in May 2020.
For guidance on the changes and answers to other common questions, visit the Department for Education's Apprenticeship guide for Apprentices and their Employers which covers guidance on temporary measures brought in from 23 April – examinations, furloughing, continued learning and support for apprentices who unfortunately find themselves redundant at this time.
Apply now for courses commencing September 2020. For more information visit www.serc.ac.uk to find out how you could be #BetterOffAtSERC
