SERC Staff and Student Shortlisted for SENI Awards

SERC’s Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Environment Team and Incoming Student Governor, Sophie Leith Francis have been nominated for a Social Enterprise Northern Ireland (SENI) Award.

The SENI Awards is a time to recognise, commend and promote the individuals and businesses creating positive change and social impact within Northern Ireland.

The Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Environment Team have been nominated in the Social Partnership/Market Building category which is open to any partnership between social enterprise, public sector body or private sector organisation, that has made efforts within its own organisation and remit to create more opportunities for the growth of the social enterprise sector.

Incoming Student Governor and Level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development student, Sophie Leith Francis has been nominated in the Young Person category. Working closely with the college’s Enterprise team, Sophie continues to develop her social enterprise idea, which is a book that helps young people with emotional management and building resilience. The Young Person Award category, recognises an individual under the age of 30 involved with a social enterprise who can clearly demonstrate their commitment to the ethos of social enterprise as well as represent excellence in their field of work.

The award ceremony with be on 14 October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Belfast. we wish the Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Environment team and Sophie Leith Francis the best of luck in their respective categories.
