The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is an association for Human Resource Management Professionals that work across the UK. Returning in 2022 for their tenth year, the CIPD Northern Ireland Awards celebrate the contribution of HR and People Management to the success of public and private sector organisations in Northern Ireland. Through a judging process, the awards identify individuals, organisations and practices that are championing better work and working lives.

SERC has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative’ category, for the College’s dedication to furthering the betterment of mental health for staff and students. This initiative includes the promotion of healthy working environments, the provision of information, support services, and raising the awareness of mental wellbeing amongst staff and students, as well as providing training to managers to ensure they are equipped to support employees. All of this and more is embedded within SERC’s Mind Yourself Campaign - an initiative led by SERC, in partnership with NICHS to raise awareness and to promote workplace health and wellbeing.

Emma Carson, SERC Human Resources Services Manager, comments “The HR team are delighted to be shortlisted for this distinguished and highly regarded award within the HR profession. This is a welcome recognition of the focus and investment we have placed on employee health and wellbeing, and in particular, mental health. We will continue to seek innovative and impactful ways to respond to the continuing and future needs to our staff and students.”

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on the 6th of October 2022
