SERC has been shortlisted for a national award for their work with the fire safety and security industry.
The Community Awards, by Aico HomeLINK, recognise the achievements of inspirational individuals and organisations working within the local community and social housing.
SERC has been shortlisted in the College Initiative of the Year Award, which celebrates the best and most innovative initiative among UK Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges to promote best practices and to support student development.
William Greer, Chief Training & Contracts Officer at SERC said, “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this award, which recognises the Colleges’ support in setting up the NI Fire and Security Employers Federation, development of a new apprenticeship and training route to support growth as well as the introduction of a Security Systems Level 2 Upskilling course for people working in the industry.”
He added, “SERC’s work with the industry and stakeholders, including the Department for the Economy and awarding bodies will ensure that industry training continues to evolve in line with industry advancements and that the future skills requirement of the industry is secure.”
Winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham on 12 May 2022, hosted by George Clarke, Architect and TV presenter and guest speaker Ed Clancy OBE, the most successful Team Pursuit cyclist and three-time Olympic Gold medallist.
