Global Entrepreneurship Week

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) are scheduled to host a full programme of activities as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 8-12 November.

Lizzie Buick Deputy Director of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship said “Global Entrepreneurship Week gives us the opportunity to focus on the possibilities open to students thinking about their own start-ups and illustrates how they can apply their vocation skills in a business environment, regardless of what they are studying.

“Throughout the week we will have daily entrepreneurship content for students, staff and the public to enjoy. The content will include videos from entrepreneurs such as Katie Matthews and Gerry White, profiles on local entrepreneurs and more."

Lizze added “It is always great to hear from real people who seized the opportunity to be their own boss and, every day, steer a business in the direction they choose. We believe the week’s events will be beneficial to all and that the stories told will inspire others to turn their ideas and dreams into reality".

She concluded “At SERC our Entrepreneurs Club aim is to provide a forum for students to network and share ideas, provide an environment that will foster innovation and entrepreneurship and help students cultivate and develop their own ideas.”

As well as the daily content which will be made available on the college website, SERC’s Entrepreneurs Club are excited to host the very first SERC Enterprise Evening. Invited guests are welcomed to attend the Evening of Enterprise where they will have the opportunity to get an insight into Enterprise & Entrepreneurship at SERC while networking with other industry experts and the college's enterprising students.

The Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Environment team will also be hosting a live event on Thursday 11 November to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event will be held in the theatre in our SPACE building at our Bangor campus. The panel discussion will start at 1:30pm and last for 1 hour, the event will be live streamed by the college's Creative Developers team.
