Students from Foundation Learning Year 2 at SERC’s Newtownards campus participated in ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee morning’ on 30th September, to raise money and awareness for the Macmillan charity.

The group of students including Patrick Brown, James Warren, Erin Graham and Reece Bell hosted the coffee morning filled with tasty treats for staff and students to enjoy while they stopped by to support their fundraising initiative.  The students made a great effort and raised a fantastic total of £120, which will be used to support cancer patients with vital resources.

Heather Dunn, Associate Lecturer in Business said: “The students from Foundation Learning are year 2 returners, and they really enjoyed helping to decorate the room, greet staff and students, and serve the tea and coffee. They were very excited about supporting Macmillan and were thrilled to have raised £120 for a very worthy cause. I’d like to extend my thanks to all staff, students and parents who supported the fundraising event.”

Well done to everyone involved.
