However they soon settled into game and were back on level terms through Ryan Francey  and with Chris Jeffray getting scoring on the half hour mark SERC led 2-1 at the break.   A storming start to the second half seen SERC score three times in 15 minutes, with goals from captain Jake Corbett, Chris Jeffray again and a beautiful strike from midfielder Dylan McKerr to cap off a fine team performance in what was a tricky away fixture.
Man of Match: Ryan Francey (L2 Sport) A dominant midfield display.

Round of the last 16 was played on 17/12/19 at Laurelhill College Lisburn
Final Score: Laurelhill Community College, Lisburn (0) SERC FC (2)
Scorers: Matty Strain & Ryan Francey

Match Details: This local derby saw SERC produce a robust and controlled performance to reach the Quarter Finals of the U18 NI Schools Cup for the second year running.   Laurelhill had their fair share of chances, however with SERCs defence standing firm, winger Matty Strain finished with aplomb following a delightful pass from captain Jake Corbett.  1-0 SERC at half time. The second half saw SERC started much brighter and created several good chances with Matty Strain a constant threat on the left wing, hitting the post on one occasion. To their credit Laurelhill pressed in search of the equaliser, but SERC's defence again were resolute and nullified any danger. Then came the match winner and a wonder goal by midfielder Ryan Francey, who from outside the box, spotted the home keeper of his line and lobbed him to seal this keenly contested local derby game to ensure bragging right across Lisburn and the sizable 'travelling' SERC supporters into raptures!
Man of Match: Jacob Collins (L2 Sport) A rock at centre half.
