Recipe of the Week: Homemade Beef Burgers

Spring is upon us and the sun is shining. It's time to dust off the barbecue and make some delicious homemade burgers using this simple to follow recipe!
Homemade Beef Burgers
- Serves 4
- Cooking time 20 Minutes
- Kcal- 322
Ingredients:
- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 x 500g pack British Beef Steak Mince 15% fat
- 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
- 1 egg, beaten - Salt and Pepper
Method:
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, add the onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened and starting to turn golden. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the beef mince with the herbs and the egg.
- Season with salt and pepper, add the onions and mix well. Using your hands, shape into 4 patties.
- Cook the burgers on the preheated griddle for 5-6 minutes on each side. While the second side is cooking, lay your cheese on top to melt slightly (if using).
- Serve burger using bread rolls and topping of your choice.
Top Tips:
- Try a wholemeal option to increase your fibre intake and keep you feeling satisfied for longer!
- Get the veggies in-add toppings such as lettuce, tomato and red onion.
- Want to make it a cheeseburger? Why not try a slice of Mozzarella or a small amount of grated Parmesan as healthier cheese options?
- Put down the ketchup! There are so many ways to add flavour to your burger without the added sugar-try adding pesto, mustard, salsa, guacamole or hummus.
