Podium Place for SERC at Inter College Automation Competition

Two Apprenticeship NI Level 3 Engineering students from South Eastern Regional College (SERC) have taken a podium place in an Inter College competition which tested Automation knowledge and skills of students from across NI FE colleges.

The duo, Charlie Clarke (Bangor) and Andrew McMaster (Ballyhalbert), both employed by Lakeland Dairies Ltd, lifted second place at the competition, hosted at Southern Regional College. This win has secured their spot at the WorldSkills UK Regional competition in June for a place in the National competition.

Lecturer Jonathan McEwan said, “It was a great competition, and I am delighted with the result for Charlie and Andrew.  This success comes hot on their success at SERC’s annual Intercampus Automation competition when they lifted first place.”
