Have you ever thought about the plastic sponge or your dishcloth at home and considered how it could be effecting our food chain and water supplies?

  • The plastic sponge- Made from polyurethane, an oil based plastic. Not very Green.
  • The humble dishcloth - 100% cotton, can be used over and over, machine washable and easy to dry.

Most people will not think about the sponge and the fact that the majority are made from polyurethane with is a petrol based plastic which takes a considerable amount of time to break down into plastic particles that we cannot get rid off. As a result of washing dishes and glassware these particles end up in our food and our water supplies, which we ingest. So why not consider the greener alternative - the humble dishcloth!

To celebrate the revival of the dishcloth, the first ten people to email gogreen@serc.ac.uk, will be invited to attend a free:
