Today marks the first day of SERC’s “Online Learning Week”, a week designed to allow students to maintain and grow their digital skills as well as their ability to learn in a hybrid educational environment of online and on campus studies.

This week is an excellent opportunity to evidence the T skills students are using during the online week, against the T Skills qualification. Examples are linked here.

If you need support to prepare your synchronous online class, use the service desk “request work” to request mentor support.

Please remind students that if they are joining online from a Campus that week, to bring their headphones. A small number of headsets will be available to loan from the LRC. If your learners need a device nearer the time, some will be available to borrow, subject to conditions. Please contact servicedesk@serc.ac.uk regarding loan of equipment.

Additional information and support is available to students through the IT Support Hub. If students are having problems with their user account, Wi-Fi or how a piece of software works, there are useful resources accessible to them there: 'Training Materials'

Requesting IT support: If your students need to report a fault with a piece of College IT equipment or software, they should email the 'Service Desk' at servicedesk@serc.ac.uk. If you need to ask for work that is not a fault, you can also use the 'Request Work' function of the Service Desk. Students may also call 02891 276767 and leave a message stating their name, student ID and contact number. ITS will be in touch to help resolve any issues.
