SERC’s Virtual Entrepreneur Club recently hosted a Q and A with Noel Allen, founder and CEO of Noisy Snacks. If you missed the chance to attend the event live but would like to watch the Q and A, you can do so by joining the Virtual Entrepreneurs Club.
Noel has kindly provided some of his top tips from his experience as an entrepreneur.
Support Is Key
Family and friends will always support you, but they will also protect you from risk or hurt. Try to surround yourself with like-minded people who will be honest with you. Bad feedback is good feedback, it’s not personal it’s how you develop.
Everyone has skills
At the start you may have to do everything but try to bring people around you who have skills you do not.
Problems
They all have solutions no matter how big or small. Tell yourself I will come up with the answer, not in that second but you will find it.
Talk to yourself
Tell yourself you can do it and it will work out; nothing is built overnight. Think of your reason/reasons why you want this and remind yourself of it when times are hard.
Network
More people, more contacts, more opportunity. Have a 60 second pitch that you can tell people what you are about quickly, and work on it over and over.
Pain
It is important to celebrate the wins, even small victories, as it all moves so fast you blow past them.
Fun
Running a business can be hard work. So have fun with it, remember you are choosing to do this, and you can do it in whatever way you like.
