New Foundation Degree in Industry 4 at SERC

SERC continues to enhance Higher Education (HE) provision for students with a new Foundation Degree programme set to roll out this September.

Students can now apply for a Foundation Degree in Industry 4.0 (Subject to validation by The Open University (OU)) commencing this autumn at SERC’s Bangor or Lisburn Campuses. The two-year Foundation Degree focuses on the digital integration of manufacturing operations.  Students will study fundamental engineering principles and practices, alongside advanced technologies being utilised by cutting edge manufacturing industries as they look to improve efficiency and production capabilities.

The development of the course presents a new opportunity for applicants to study close to home, led by industry-experienced tutors in small classes, using state of the art, industry-standard equipment.

SERC’s portfolio of Higher Education courses includes Foundation Degree and degree-level courses in partnership with The Open University, Ulster University, Queen’s University Belfast and Liverpool John Moores University.

SERC offers OU Foundation Degree courses in Cloud Computing Technologies, in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics at SERC’s Bangor, Downpatrick and Lisburn campuses and in Culinary Arts at the College’s Bangor Campus. OU Degree courses are also available in Cloud Computing Technologies and in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics,  at Bangor, Downpatrick and Lisburn Campuses providing a progression route for those currently studying a level 5 qualification in a related area.
