New Blue Peter Presenter Joel Mawhinney

New CBBC Blue Peter presenter, Joel Mawhinney went back to his stage roots when he recently dropped in to the SERC Bangor Campus SPACE Theatre and performed some magic tricks for an audience of local children.

Fifteen children aged 4-11 had an unexpected half-term treat when they met Joel, enjoyed helping with a card trick, and were filmed for a section of the programme looking at Joel’s background in Bangor.

Joel began his performing career with magic shows at SPACE when he was 18 years old; seven years later, his first live Blue Peter show goes out this Friday 11 November at 5pm.
