Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business student Morgan Colton progresses towards her career dream while studying at SERC.

Morgan came to SERC after studying her GCSEs and began to study the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General, before moving on to study her current SERC business course.

Morgan comments, “I never took to the academic nature of school and never wanted to do A-Levels. I found out about SERC and the vocational learning they do, which really appealed to me, so I attended a virtual open day and determined that SERC was right for me.”

Of her course, Morgan says “My favourite thing about my course is the tutors and lecturers – they really make the whole course as good as it is, they are all very supportive and helped boost my confidence while studying. The Learning Support department were also very helpful in boosting my confidence and helping me through my studies too.”

On her time at SERC, Morgan concludes, “My experience at SERC has been incredible, it’s the best experience I’ve ever had studying. When I started at SERC, I didn’t have much confidence in my ability to study, especially because I was not very academically minded back then, but now after studying at SERC, I’m applying to five universities (with an unconditional offer back from one of them), and I now feel that I have the confidence to progress to that level and do what I want to do, which is to eventually start my own marketing business.”

Find out how you can unlock your future with SERC. Come along to our Open Evening for Full Time students from 4.00pm – 7.00pm on Wednesday 8 March 2023 at the College’s Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards Campuses.
