More Paralympic Success for SERC Alumnus Bethany

Bethany Firth's incredible swimming career continues along with her medal count. Over the weekend Bethany competed as part of Team GB's Mixed 4x100m Freestyle team, not only winning gold but setting a new world record in the process. 

Bethany who studied on the Elite Athlete Programme at SERC competed today in the 200m individual medley, and won silver. This brings Bethany's Paralympic medal tally to a phenomenal total of 8, including 5 golds and 3 silvers.

Attention now turns to Thursday's backstroke event, Bethany has won gold in the 100m backstroke at London 2012 and Rio 2016. The heats begin at 2.16am BST with the final scheduled for 10.10am.
