Local woman Linda McAllen has been creating teddy bear displays during lockdown, which have been putting smiles on the faces of their neighbours in Maghaberry.

Linda,  mother of Kirsty McAllen, a student with South Eastern Regional College’s  Job Club said, “It all started as a bit of fun just to cheer people up and then we set up a Facebook page to spread the cheer and have been delighted with the response.

She added, “The bears are very versatile. They can be artistic with their musical performances, adventurous with their camping, sporting with their tug of war, football and badminton, and thankful of course with a tribute to everyone in the NHS."

Adele McAteer, Lisburn Job Club Co-ordinator and Lecturer said "This has been such a fun activity which all students of SERC’s Lisburn Job Club have enjoyed following. The creativity from Kirsty and her mother Linda, has been amazing. I know the local community have enjoyed it as much as everyone in SERC and we look forward to more amazing teddy bear scenarios. Well done Kirsty and Linda for putting a smile on everyone’s face.
