SERC recognises that during these unprecedented times, many of our hardworking students have become vital workers within their local community to help meet demands caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This is the case for Level 3 Catering Apprentice, Taylor McIlhone.

Taylor is currently employed as an apprentice at Thomas Duffy and Sons Ltd. Convenience shop in his hometown of Killough. Taylor has been working determinedly at the deli and hot food counter, prepping and cooking meals in order to cater to the high volume of customers that now find themselves dependent on this local service.

Anne-Marie Williams, SERC Training support officer said, “The food industry has become a vital service that we all find ourselves reliant on during this pandemic. I would like to commend Taylor for demonstrating his professionalism and selflessness during this time.”
