South Eastern Regional College (SERC) Level 3 Hairdressing students from the college’s Bangor Campus recently set up a stall in Bloomfield Shopping Centre, Bangor, to raise money for K9 Search and Rescue NI.
Members of the public were given the opportunity to get Christmas hairstyles involving tinsel and braids, glitter tattoos, as well as a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses such as Kirsty McCauley Hair and Beauty, DV8, Bloomfield Shopping Centre, SERC, Pawsome Grooms, SunSeekers, Del Piero’s Urban, Claire’s, Pampered Pets Grooming, Pawfect Pups NI, and Sweetie Rush NI.
Money raised from the raffle will go to K9 Search and Rescue NI, which is a professional all-volunteer canine search and rescue team who provide trained canines and handlers to coastguards, police, and local communities in the event of an emergency and to advocate public safety.
After a day of fundraising, the students managed to raise a brilliant £205.64 for K9 Search and Rescue NI, making them better able to make a difference to those who need their services over Christmas.
