We are really looking forward to welcoming you to SERC but, in line with government advice, we have designed our enrolment process to safeguard everyone’s health as far as possible.

Before attending one of our campuses, please read the below information:

If you have applied and attended a Pre Entry Advice and Guidance Session (PEAG) plus Pre-enrolment Appointment and have received a Conditional Offer (Pre-enrolled). Once you have received your results, you should upload these to your application by 10am on 10 August to secure your place.  Failure to upload your results may result in your place being released to another applicant.  You are not required to attend campus if you have achieved the entry criteria for your course and uploaded these to your application. (Please note that as HE courses carry fees, you will need to provide a Direct Debit mandate or confirmation of Student Funding (Award letter) from the Student Loan Company).

If you have applied but have not yet attended a Pre Entry Advice and Guidance Session (PEAG). You will be contacted with a date and time to attend campus or have an online interview. At this appointment, our lecturing staff will hold a PEAG session which will consist of a few questions and a skills test (ranging from an audition to a computer test, depending on the specific course you have applied to).  If you are successful in this and meet the other entry requirements of the course (you will need to bring proof of your results), providing there are still places available, lecturing staff will enrol you on the course.

If you have applied for a Foundation Degree course, you will need to provide proof of results. Students should upload scans/photographs of their GCSE/AS-Level/Level 2/3 certificates along with their results slip to their application by 10am on 10 August. These are verified by the awarding body/regulator before enrolment is confirmed.

If you have not met the entry criteria. You may still be able to enrol; this will depend on the demand for the course and the awarding body/regulator. If this is not possible, you will be referred to our Careers Service to discuss your options.

If you have not applied for a course there may still be spaces available.  However, this is not guaranteed and entry requirements must be met to be eligible for enrolment. We highly recommend that you apply early to avoid disappointment. Our Careers Advisors will be able to help you explore your options.

Funding your course. All Higher Education students will be required to provide evidence of how they will make payment of their tuition fees at the point of enrolment.  You can apply for Student Finance to assist with the cost of your studies.  HE Student Finance consists of non-repayable grants, repayable loans, or a combination of both and can assist with tuition fees, day to day expenses whilst studying, childcare costs and costs relating to a disability or long-term health condition. Learn more here

Not sure about your next steps? Our team of SERC Careers Advisors provide a professional, impartial, and confidential service, to help young people and adults make informed choices about their future career and next steps. To find out more about professional advice on your next steps.

Health and safety on campus: SERC recognises that this may be a difficult time for some of you and the College has measures in place to minimise risk.  Temperature scanning takes place at all entrances; this does not record any personal data and is in place for everyone’s protection. Whilst on campus, we ask that face coverings are worn at all times (unless exempt), social distancing is adhered to, and hand sanitation stations are used.
