Throughout lockdown it's important to get outdoors, and keep the mind occupied, a great way to combine the two is by doing some gardening.
This week Horticulture lecturer Joanna Loane has provided us with some helpful advice on cutting back perennials.

Salvia elegans is one of these perennials. To ensure a plant that is full of fresh new shoots to produce flowers from mid-summer through to late autumn, now is a good time to prune back the stems from last year.
