Courtney McBurney (21) from Bangor found her route to success lay with SERC after attending an open day in 2016 she decided her next steps in education would be with the College.

After completing the Level 3 Travel and Tourism and Level 3 Food and Beverage Supervision courses, Courtney progressed to Higher Education with SERC on the Ulster University Foundation Degree Hospitality and Tourism Management with Specialisms.

Studying at SERC has not only progressed her education in the Travel and Tourism industry but also helped her employability in the sector. She said, “I have gained so much experience and knowledge while studying on the Foundation Degree. Being on the course even helped me secure part-time employment in Little Wing, part of the Beannchor Group. I am able to apply what I am learning on the course to what I am doing in my job and so gaining valuable experience."

"Right now I am completing the Summer Bridging Course with Ulster University so in September 2021 I will join the final year of the BSc International Hospitality Management at Ulster University. I would definitely recommend SERC and the Foundation Degree route.”

Apply now for Higher Education courses commencing September 2021.
