Examinations & Assessments Update

We at SERC know that learners will be keen to know exactly how and when grades will be awarded this year. We recognise that students have had to live with a lot of uncertainty over the past year. However, the Awarding Organisations are still refining the process; we will share their final decision as soon as we have it.
We do know that teachers will award grades based on a range of evidence from each student. We must ask you to be patient as staff are not permitted to indicate what a final grade might be - so please do not ask them to do so.
It is vitally important that students continue to engage, attend online classes and complete tasks and assessments as required. The work you do will form the basis of teacher assessments and teachers will award grades at the level at which a student is working.
The marks and grades will first be internally moderated and agreed at SERC and then each exam body will verify these decisions by sampling the grades we award and the evidence we present (ie your work!) to support our decisions.
If you have issues or any concerns you should contact your tutor. We want to continue to work with you to achieve positive outcomes and staff are happy to discuss how you are progressing at the minute and what you can do to improve.
